大家可能有好一陣子沒有見到 Samsung 在台灣推出新的筆記型電腦，然而，目前在歐洲也傳出將逐步退出市場的計畫。
根據 Cnet 的報導指出，Samsung Europe 將停止販售 Chrome 作業系統的 Chromebooks 以及 Microsoft Windows 作業系統的筆型電腦。
在一份聲明中，Samsung 指出他們必須要快速反應市場的需要以及要求。在歐洲，我們將會停止販售所有的筆記型電腦，這其中包含了 Chromebooks。這舉動只是一個區域性的動作，其他區域並不一定會跟進或是受到影響。Samsung 將會繼續深入評估市場裝置，做出一些調整，以讓 Samsung 在 PC 領域保持競爭力。
"We quickly adapt to market needs and demands," Samsung said in a statement. "In Europe, we will be discontinuing sales of laptops including Chromebooks for now. This is specific to the region -- and is not necessarily reflective of conditions in other markets. We will continue to thoroughly evaluate market conditions and will make further adjustments to maintain our competitiveness in emerging PC categories."
聲明中可以知道，目前影響的區域僅限定歐洲市場，但其實 Samsung 的筆記型電腦在美國以及亞洲等區域表現並不如其平板電腦，甚至是電腦螢幕，因此退出市場其實早有一些蹤跡在。
Samsung 目前是全球第一代智慧型手機以及平板電腦的品牌，但在 PC 市場，它甚至無法擠入第 5 名。目前 PC 出貨量排名第一為 Levono，其他依序為 HP、Dell、Acer 以及 ASUS。
